WWE & The Rock Still Discussing Royal Rumble Appearance

The Royal Rumble will be here before we know it, despite the fact that it won’t go down until January 28th. The Rock’s name is still churning in the rumor mill, but nothing is confirmed yet for the big Alamodome event.

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE has not booked The Rock for the Royal Rumble event. Despite that fact, plenty of rumors have come out about The Great One’s status for the Royal Rumble event.

We reached out to confirm The Rock’s status and see what’s going on. A tenured member of the team told us that “there is no status update on The Rock.” At this time, “discussions are still going on,” but “nothing is settled.”

The current creative direction for Roman Reigns appears to paint the picture for Kevin Owens challenging the Head of the Table for his titles in Texas this January. With the current storyline Owens has with Sami Zayn and the Bloodline, a Roman Reigns encounter should be full of drama.

The Rock is still a “virtual lock” for WrestleMania 39, but “they still haven’t even come to terms on the overall deal” for Dwayne Johnson’s return. We will have to see when that happens, but the show of shows is still very much in the cards for the Jumanji star.
