Brodie Lee made his AEW debut in 2020 when he was revealed as the leader of the Dark Order. Since his debut, Mr. Brodie Lee made an immediate impact. He was putting on the best work of his career and was just scratching the surface of what he was capable of when he won the TNT Championship from Cody Rhodes.
That tremendous outing as he lost the TNT Title in a dog collar match on July 10th, 2020 was his final contest, as he sadly passed away later that year from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. His passing shocked the entire wrestling community. AEW even held a special tribute show in his honor.
Almost two years after his tragic passing, Seth Rollins got on the microphone at a recent live WWE event in Rochester, Brodie Lee’s hometown, and paid homage to Brodie Lee.
“Mr Brodie Lee had grown up here. This is really the first time I’ve been here with a microphone in my hand, in his city, to talk about how much I miss him and love him. I just wanted to say, tonight was for him. Every single time we’re in Rochester, in my heart, it means we’re here for him,” said Seth Rollins.
Brodie Lee’s wife Amanda Huber had a heartfelt reaction to Seth Rollins’ tribute when she thanked him for his kind gesture. She logged into Twitter and sent out a reply to her husband’s old friend.
“This is beautiful.
Thank you @WWERollins 💜,” tweeted Amanda Huber.
Brodie Lee has left a legacy that will never be forgotten. His fans and peers will keep his memory and legacy alive for many more years to come. This was a touching tribute to Brodie Lee, but it certainly won’t be the last.
