Robert Roode made his WWE debut in 2016 when he showed up at NXT. Since then, Roode’s WWE career has been hit or miss. Although his initial career in NXT saw him win the NXT Championship, the latter part of his WWE run hasn’t lived up to his experience on the developmental brand. Now, his career has another setback.

Recently, rumors started doing the rounds that Robert Roode would be returning to the ring. He was even present backstage for a few shows. However, that doesn’t seem likely considering Roode just underwent neck fusion surgery for his C-5 and C-6 vertebrae. Roode posted the post-surgery picture on Instagram, with an update as the caption.

ig thank you to Dr Andy Cordover and his amazing staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham Alabama

C5/6 fusion is complete. Now the work begins.

Recovery and Rehabilitation.

Looking forward to the challenge

Given the seriousness of the surgery, it looks like Robert Roode will be out of action for quite some time. We wish him a speedy recovery. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we keep you updated on Roode’s recovery.

Roode’s run on the main roster has been underwhelming, to say the least. He hasn’t done anything noteworthy. Most of his time recently has been on the shelf. He hasn’t even appeared on WWE television for quite some time due to an injury. Hopefully, he will be able to recover quickly and get back to the ring after surgery.

Please send your wishes for Robert Roode in the comments section.
