Getting a WWE championship title takes an ample amount of hard work in the ring. However, there are people outside that squared circle that deserve similar recognition for their work. WWE has now acknowledged a police officer’s heroism by gifting him a championship belt.
Officer Alec Iurato was hurt in a shooting that claimed the lives of two Bristol police officers in October. They were Sgt. Alex Hamzy and Lt. Dustin DeMonte. To honor him for his bravery, three WWE Superstars traveled to Hartford, Connecticut to hand him the WWE Championship.
Officer Lurato was pictured with three WWE stars in a Facebook status update from the Bristol Connecticut Police Department. Liv Morgan, Sonya Deville, and Braun Strowman presented the championship. In addition to assisting Officer Iurato, the families of Lt. Demonte and Sgt. Hamzy were also supported by WWE, according to Bristol PD.
Lurato was described as a real hero by Bristol Police Chief Brian Gould. He claimed that on that October night, he kept his composure and showed courage by putting an end to the killing. Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time WWE has gone above and above to express their gratitude to someone for their bravery.
“The WWE was in Hartford CT recently at the XL Center and presented Bristol Connecticut Police Department Officer Alec Iurato with a belt. The WWE has been not only been a great support to our heroes LT. Dustin Demonte & SGT. Alex Hamzy’s families, but also the Bristol Connecticut Police Department. Thank you for your Support!!! We appreciate YOU!”
During a terror attack in London, England, in June 2017, off-duty police officer Charlie Guenigault suffered injuries. He was attempting to defend a member of the British Transport Police. Later that month, he was astonished to receive a WWE Championship from none other than Triple H.
It’s great to see WWE honor and appreciate the bravery of men and women who do their job at their utmost best. You may check out the post from the Bristol Police Department below.
