Ric Flair Says Ronda Rousey’s Opponents Need To Carry Their Weight

Ronda Rousey’s second WWE run has been nothing short of dominant. Since returning to the company, she has torn through her opponents and left a path of destruction behind. No matter how dominant Ronda is in the ring, fans always find a way to criticize her.

Recently, Ronda Rousey’s matches have been heavily criticized by the fans. Even her recent title defense against Shotzi drew almost no reactions from the crowd. While it may seem like the whole world is against her, one WWE Hall of Famer has jumped to Ronda’s defense.

Ric Flair addressed this on his To Be The Man podcast, saying that fans need to take into account who her opponents are when they criticize her.

“I think Ronda is fabulous. Who doesn’t like her again? I have to agree; I like Ronda personally. I think, you know, sometimes the need to look at who she is wrestling against, you know what I mean? You’re not going to get the same match out of Ronda every time. The opponent’s got to be able to carry their weight too,” said Ric Flair

Ronda Rousey recently successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shotzi at WWE Survivor Series WarGames. Given that Ronda is tearing through the roster, it will be interesting to see who WWE will pair her with next.
