Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis are one of the most captivating couples in the wrestling business. The duo have worked for every major wrestling promotion as a cohesive unit. One of them was indeed WWE and both have huge praises for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, describing their relationship with them to be extremely good.

Maria Kanellis teamed up with her real-life husband Mike Bennett during her second run with the WWE that began in 2017. The couple were involved in various high-profile upper mid card feuds during the stay with the company. However, they were released by the WWE in April 2020. Since then, they have appeared in IMPACT Wrestling, ROH and AEW. Moreover, Maria Kanellis is currently also the co-owner and founder of Women’s Wrestling Army.

The former WWE Diva Search competitor has always been vocal on her thoughts about WWE’s work culture during Vince McMahon’s era. She claimed that WWE’s work environment was full of fear and abuse of power at the time. However, she completely endorses the changes that happened ever since Triple H and Stephanie took over control of the company. Maria spoke about the same during her appearance on the Just Alyx” YouTube channel.

“I’ve always had a fantastic relationship with Triple H and Stephanie, they sent me gifts after both of my children, wishing me luck and congratulations, giant gifts … They sent all of these gifts for both of the kids, they gave my husband some great advice about parenting,” she said. “So, I think for us on a personal level we’ve always liked Stephanie and Triple H.”

Maria Kanellis even stated that she and Mike Bennett spoke with WWE at the time their IMPACT Wrestling contracts were coming to an end, but chose to sign with rival competition AEW.

“We did that courtesy conversation, and it went really well, and at the end of the day I think AEW is the place we belong. We are really happy about the different relationships we have now in so many different companies.”

The trio of Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis and Matt Taven, collectively known as The Kingdom made their AEW debut on the October 14th episode of AEW Rampage calling out one of the best tag team in their landscape, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood known together as FTR. We’ll have to see what’s next for Kanellis and Bennett, but it seems that they still have some fond memories from their time in WWE?

Do you think The Kingdom should have signed with WWE instead of AEW? Sound off in the comments!
