Brian Kendrick’s AEW career ended before it began, as he was set to face Jon Moxley back in February. AEW pulled the match after past offensive comments made by Brian resurfaced online. He came back to WWE recently for one night, and it was thanks to Ronda Rousey.
Kendrick recently tried out as a producer in WWE. He produced the Ronda Rousey versus Shotzi Blackheart match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WWE Survivor Series WarGames along with Jason Jordan.
Despite his appearance, WWE has not hired Brian Kendrick back just yet. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that Ronda Rousey requested Brian Kendrick to produce the match.
“What happened was, Brian Kendrick was Ronda Rousey’s original wrestling trainer, and she suggested, she asked, for him to be brought in for her match with Shotzi. So he was in on Saturday, and it was not a hire.
You could say it was a tryout, I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a tryout, but it really wasn’t like a normal tryout. It was more Ronda Rousey asked for him to help her.
Jason Jordan also produced it, but she asked for Brian to be brought in, so they brought him in.”
Brian Kendrick’s WWE return was a bit controversial for fans, because he has a lot of radical beliefs that he once shared openly, opinions that he might share with Ronda Rousey. Kendrick’s inclusion was also seen as a surprise by many in the company. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Kendrick returns to WWE after Survivor Series WarGames.
