Braun Strowman debuted as part of the Wyatt Family back in 2015 and had a roller coaster of a career since then. He was involved in quite a lot of feuds over the years, but there were many missed opportunities for him as well. Even Kurt Angle believes WWE missed out by not having Strowman and Triple H having a proper feud, which could have led to 5-star matches.
During the 2017 edition of Survivor Series, Stephanie McMahon picked Kurt Angle as the team captain of RAW for the traditional Survivor Series match. During the match, The Game hit a Pedigree on Angle and subsequently Shane McMahon.
When all was said and done at Survivor Series that year, only Strowman and Triple H were left as part of Team RAW. In fact, The Monster Among Men laid waste to Triple H after the red brand won the match.
While speaking during the most recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle recalled the 2017 Survivor Series match. Angle stated that he believes Triple H and Braun Strowman could have had 5-star matches if WWE decided to book the in a long-term feud.
I just don’t agree with what they did with Braun there. I understand him giving me the Pedigree to screw me over and screw me over with the win against Shane [McMahon], that made sense but the thing with Braun Strowman, leaving him hanging there high and dry just made him look like an idiot.
I say yes, it [a program between Braun Strowman and Triple H] definitely should have [happened]. Not that Triple H turned on Braun but I think he disrespected Braun to a certain degree, because he took me out in front of Braun, so that’s a sign of disrespect. I think that if they would have had a program together, it would have been great and I think that Triple H and Braun Strowman would have had some five-star matches.”
It’s highly unlikely that Triple H will ever wrestle again. His cardiac episode ended any talk of him getting back in the ring, but crazier things have happened in pro wrestling.
Braun Strowman will carry on in his feud with GUNTHER and the other Imperium members on Friday Night Smackdown. Regardless, a program between Triple H and Strowman might have been a very interesting one, if nothing else.
