MJF became a huge star in AEW very quickly, and he has far exceeded expectations. The Salt Of The Earth is known to have a very sharp tongue and is never afraid of using profanity when needed. In fact, Jim Cornette himself has given MJF permission to use his catchphrase, which is profane in nature.
The Salt Of The Earth faced Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship in the main event of Full Gear. He ended up winning the match after William Regal turned on Moxley and helped MJF.
Following MJF’s big win, he went on a huge rant during the post-Full Gear press conference. This included MJF using Jim Cornette’s trademarked catchphrase, “Thank you, F*ck you, Bye.”
While speaking on a recent episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette addressed MJF using his trademarked catchphrase. Cornette made it clear that he gave MJF permission to use the catchphrase whenever he wants to.
“Even though “Thank you, F**k you, Bye” is trademarked, he has permission to use it anytime he wants to, especially anytime he’s using it at the people in AEW and/or the people that cover that same promotion. I will give him a 100 Year License to use it anytime he wants! There will be no legal action! I’m sure there’s gonna be enough legal action in AEW upcoming for everybody without me having to sue MJF.”
MJF is set to address his actions from Full Gear on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see what MJF will have to say on the show. Fans are certainly looking forward to what he will have to say.
