Tony Schiavone is a prominent feature on AEW television as part of their broadcast team. Prior to joining AEW, Tony Schiavone was part of some major wrestling promotions such as WWF, WCW, TNA, and Jim Crockett Promotions.
Tony Schiavone started his broadcasting journey with Jim Crockett Promotions, where he along with David Crockett hosted the NWA’s World Championship Wrestling in front of a small in-studio audience. Throughout his career, Schiavone has seen it all and been a part of some iconic moments. However, there are some moments that Tony doesn’t seem to be a fan of.
Tony Schiavone appeared on the latest episode of What Happened When. During the episode, Conrad Thompson pointed out that sometimes a match will have a DQ finish, leading to a big brawl before the show goes off the air. To this, Schiavone said:
“That’s a storytelling device. You can still have a finish in your match and then move on with the storytelling device after the finish. I never liked f*ck finish DQs. F*ck finish DQs is f*cking the fans. You don’t want to f*ck the fans. You can only f*ck them so many times.”
Although Tony Schiavone isn’t a booker, his experience in the business will help him as a senior producer within AEW. You can catch Tony Schiavone every week on AEW Dynamite which airs at 8 p.m. ET.
