Triple H became the head of WWE Creative and made numerous changes to the company already. This included introducing the WarGames matches to Survivor Series this year instead of the traditional 5-on-5 tag team elimination match. However, that doesn’t mean WWE will stop doing tag team elimination matches entirely.

As seen during the Survivor Series Premium Live Event, Triple H ensured fans had a great time with both the men’s and women’s WarGames matches. Fans especially loved the Bloodline winning their match, and all the drama that surrounded that victory as well.
While speaking during the post-Survivor Series press conference, Triple H was asked about whether WWE is doing away with the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series tag team elimination matches. Triple H made it clear that will not happen, putting emphasis on keeping things fresh for fans.
I don’t think we’re done with anything. I think that when we look at it together as a whole, it’s about what’s best for our fans at the moment. Sometimes stuff needs a break for a while. sometimes you bring it back later and it’s iconic and it’s ”Oh my god they’re going back to that.” So, to say it’ll never happen again is wrong. We all decided it was the right year for us to freshen up the concept a little bit. Either the 5 on 5 tags or maybe even the RAW vs Smackdown was a bit tired and needed a refresh. At the end of the day, we’re trying to give everybody the best entertainment we can.
The Survivor Series Premium Live Event was a huge success both commercially and critically. We will have to wait and see whether WWE will be bringing back the traditional 5-on-5 tag team elimination match next year or not.
