The AEW All Out media scrum ended in chaos after CM Punk went on a scathing rant on Colt Cabana, Page, and The Young Bucks. It got so bad, AEW ended up taking a huge hit to its reputation and Punk became public enemy #1. Despite this, it seems AEW is still not interested in buying out CM Punk’s contract.
CM Punk has been out of action since All Out as he injured his triceps. He underwent surgery for the same. In the meantime, The Elite has already returned to AEW television.
Bryan Alvarez noted during a recent live message that Punk is the one who wants the contract buyout and pointed out that if AEW wants him gone for good, then they would just release him. He added that if AEW wants to release him, they will wait until he is fully healed from his injury.
“Why would AEW want a buyout? Fire him. If you troll him, what’s gonna happen, he’s going to say he doesn’t want a buyout anymore?
Maybe they will fire him, but they’re not gonna do it when he’s injured.”
The Elite also took a shot at CM Punk on AEW Dynamite this past week. We will have to wait and see whether AEW and Punk will be able to mend their relationship or not. Fans may not be seeing Punk back in an AEW ring ever again.
