Santino Marella is best known as one of the funniest WWE superstars of all time. Marella’s impeccable comic timing coupled with his Italian accent gave way to some of the most iconic WWE moments since the attitude era. Fans of Marella will be disappointed to learn that he has little desire to step back in the ring.

Since 2014, Santino Marella has only wrestled in a few independent promotions, indicating that his in-ring career has been winding down. Marella spoke to Fightful recently, where he mentioned that he preferred doing commentary over wrestling.

“No, I don’t really have a whole lot of interest in wrestling too much, to be honest. I enjoy doing commentary and maybe in the future you’ll see me somewhere as a color commentator, producer or something like that. My wrestling days are definitely behind me in terms of a career. I do it for fun. But I’ve got two small kids at home and I’m staying home and enjoying that as much as possible.”

Santino Marella’s last match for WWE took place in 2014. Presently, Santino is busy running Battle Arts Academy where he is the owner and a pro wrestling coach. Given his comments, it would be interesting to see him in a commentary role in WWE.
