Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks faced Death Triangle in the second match of the best-of-seven series. The venue for the bout was Chicago which is also CM Punk’s hometown. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the crowd was hostile toward The Elite.
The Elite played the crowd quite well and took small digs at CM Punk. In one instance, Matt Jackson attempted to hit the buckshot lariat but failed and landed on his tailbone. This seemed to poke fun at CM Punk’s attempt to perform the move a couple of months ago.
Later on in the match, Kenny Omega hit the GTS which also happens to be CM Punk’s move. However, after the match, Omega took to Twitter to thank KENTA who is the inventor of the GTS.
“Thank you, @KENTAG2S . Always a good brother. Bullet Club 4-Life amirite?,” tweeted Kenny Omega
KENTA has since responded to Kenny Omega’s tweet by sharing a gif asking him to “shut the Fu*k up.”
“YOU ARE WELCOME BUT…”
Despite CM Punk crediting KENTA for the GTS in 2012, KENTA seemingly has beef with the former AEW World Champion. This could stem from the fact that KENTA wasn’t allowed to use the GTS during his NXT tenure due to CM Punk’s issue with the company. Check out KENTA’s tweet below:
