Vince McMahon shocked the world when he announced his WWE retirement earlier this year amid sexual harassment allegations. Following his retirement, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were appointed co-CEOs and Triple H was put in charge of creative. Since retiring, Vince McMahon had made very few public appearances, and it has been Triple H running the show backstage.
However, Sgt. Slaughter feels otherwise. In a recent interview with Bill Apter, Sgt. Slaughter said he believes that Vince McMahon is still involved with the WWE because there’s no way to keep him away given his knowledge of the business.
“I feel that he’s [Vince McMahon] still there and there’s no way to keep him away as far as his knowledge of the business [goes]. If it wasn’t for his knowledge, a lot of us wouldn’t be doing the things we’re doing today. I wish him all the best. He’s always been a good friend to me. And then he became a boss and then he became a friend again. To me, he was part of my life and is the reason I’m sitting here talking to you, along with Harley Race.”
The belief that Vince McMahon is still running the show seems a little far-fetched considering the number of changes done under Triple H’s regime. The big question is if Vince was still involved with the company, would all these changes have taken place since his departure? Only time will tell if Vince is still involved with the WWE.
