CM Punk went on a scathing rant on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks during the AEW All Out press conference. It opened up a can of worms and the effects of his actions are still being felt even now. It has been over two months since the incident and now Kenny Omega simply wants fans to move on from it.
Punk hasn’t been seen since AEW All Out as he is currently recovering from multiple injuries. In the meantime, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have already returned to AEW television, as they competed at AEW Full Gear.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Kenny Omega was asked about CM Punk’s backstage brawl with The Elite. Omega simply told fans that they should move on from the incident.
“There are things no one can talk about, so I’d encourage people to let it go. It doesn’t change that we want a team effort in AEW. I don’t even mean implicitly myself and my opponent. It also means the referee, the fans, the people who set up the ring, everyone–even a technical error can ruin the memory of a match. I can refer back to the exploding barbed wire death match. So I encourage people to move away from it because there is no information to be released. Though I cannot talk about it, I do want the fans to know I still want the best for pro wrestling.”
The AEW locker room is sceptical about Tony Khan’s comments regarding CM Punk and Colt Cabana. The Elite are also set to face Death Triangle on this week’s Dynamite, in the second match of their Best of 7 series. We’ll have to see who will win the match.
