Damian Priest Asked to Audition for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Role

WWE Superstar Damian Priest almost found himself in a major Hollywood role.

According to a report from Sean Sapp on Fightful Select, Priest was asked to read for a lead role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, specifically for the character of Namor. This would have been a significant step into the film industry for Priest, whose real name is Luis Martinez.

While Priest doesn’t have any acting credits outside of pro wrestling, his unique look and charisma caught the attention of those involved in casting for the Black Panther sequel. Sources familiar with the situation mentioned that he was asked to read for the role of Namor, one of the most prominent characters in the film, or for one of the other featured members of Talokan.

It remains unclear if Priest actually had the chance to audition, but an inquiry was definitely made. Ultimately, the role of Namor went to Tenoch Huerta, who delivered a standout performance that was widely praised by fans and critics alike.
