Kairi Sane was one of the best female pro wrestlers that WWE ever had at one point in time. At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over, Kairi Sane defeated Mayu Iwatani in the main event of the show in order to become the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion. Kairi recently revealed she was injured just four days before the match.
Kairi took to Twitter to thank the fans for all their support. She revealed she sprained herself in a flashy fall, four days before the match. Kairi said she was able to fight through both the battles with sheer willpower and support of many people.
Four days before the match, during ring practice, I sprained myself in a flashy fall. I was told that it would take three weeks for a full recovery, and I almost gave up because it hurt to walk. However, with the support of many people, I was able to fight through the two battles with my willpower. really really Thank you very much.
KAIRI Sane left WWE’s weekly television programs and moved back to Japan. She also earned her degree while there, and she got married. All the while, she maintained an ambassador position with WWE, and the company also denied her request to participate in STARDOM events.
Kairi Sane showed respect to Iwatani after the match. She said she would defend the title at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, but it was not made clear against whom. Regardless, we will have to see how she will be booked as the champion.
