The Rock has engaged himself in some legendary WrestleMania staredowns with Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, or Triple H over the years. However, one that may have been overlooked occurred in 2016 at WrestleMania 32, when the People’s Champion defeated Erick Rowan in only six seconds.
The match was kept very brief and uncomplicated, as the fastest WrestleMania fight in history was accomplished by delivering just one Rock Bottom. Rowan claimed during a Reddit AMA that The Rock made the decision to make Rowan appear like a threat before the fight even started.
“It was always a quick Rock Bottom but his idea [was] to show the size difference with a great poster worthy stare off.”
The Rock’s brief victory was the only time he took part in an official match, ever since, all of his WWE appearances have been limited to promo segments or quick physical encounters, like when he and Becky Lynch defeated Baron Corbin.
When WrestleMania returns in 2023, both men might find themselves back in the mix. The Rock is a name that has been widely linked to a fight to prove who is the real Head of the Table in a possible fight versus Roman Reigns on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
