Japanese Legend Jun Akiyama Makes AEW Debut During Rampage

Jun Akiyama revolutionized pro wrestling alongside Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada, and Akira Taue during the nineties and 2000s. The legendary “fifth pillar” of puroresu made his AEW during Rampage tonight.

Jun Akiyama appeared alongside international sensation Konosuke Takeshita for a tag team match against Eddie Kingston and Ortiz on AEW Rampage tonight. Akiyama was at the AEW Dynamite site on Wednesday night as well.

Eddie Kingston had been wanting a dream match with Jun Akiyama for a long time and he finally got his wish tonight on Rampage. The match was booked last week by AEW President Tony Khan.

Per Dave Meltzer, Akiyama agreed to the match immediately after he heard that Kingston wanted to work with him in the states. Keep reading Ringside News for more.
