Tony Khan Tried To Have FTR vs The Briscoes In AEW

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are considered one of the best tag teams in the pro wrestling world now. They have faced the best of the best teams in pro wrestling and that includes The Briscoes. In fact, Tony Khan tried to have FTR vs The Briscoes in AEW.

For a long time, fans had been clamoring to see a match between FTR and The Briscoes. Finally, the two battled it out at the ROH Supercard Of Honor pay-per-view on April 1st, but that didn’t happen in an AEW ring on TBS or TNT.

That match happened to turn out as one of the best tag team encounters in recent memory. They eventually battled it out again at Death Before Dishonor in a rematch, where FTR managed to win.

While speaking during the AEW Full Gear media conference, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that he tried to have FTR vs The Briscoes in AEW, but it never happened in the end. Dave Meltzer previously reported that TBS and TNT won’t allow the Briscoes on their channels due to previous Jay Briscoe’s homophobic comments from years ago, statements that have since been recanted and apologized for.

Tony Khan also explained FTR’s absence from the AEW Full Gear’s card. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what will become of FTR in AEW.
