MJF is frequently praised for his skills outside and inside the ring. However, there have been rumors that MJF was chosen for portraying Kevin Vaughn, better known as Lance Von Erich, in the upcoming movie “The Iron Claw.” It seems that MJF isn’t too happy about that report.
AEW’s top heel recently appeared in an interview with the Long Island-based daily newspaper Newsday where he debunked the rumor that he will be portraying Vaughn, who unsuccessfully passed himself off as a cousin of the Von Erich wrestling group after Mike Von Erich’s health issues hindered him from going back to the ring.
“I don’t know where that came from, because I never confirmed that. People are just guessing. I never said that. I’ll just say whatever I end up doing in that movie is incredible, because I’m incredible. And, my God, the cast is so stacked. Zac Efron is the GOAT. Jeremy Allen White, Lily James: Insanely talented people.”
MJF will still make his feature film debut with “The Iron Claw,” and the wrestler lauded writer-director, Sean Durkin, for being “incredibly intelligent, because he booked me.” The turmoil within the Von Erich wrestling clan and the misfortunes that happened to several of its members are all depicted in the movie. This is a tale that pro wrestling fans have wanted to see adapted on the silver screen for decades, and MJF will apparently be a part of it.
