WWE released referee Drake Wuertz from his contract earlier last year during one of their rounds of cuts. He made headlines prior to his release, mostly due to his controversial activities outside the squared circle. Despite his release being so long ago, a lot of bizarre stories featuring the former WWE referee continue to be told. One of those stories includes getting attacked by a bomb dog.
The controversial referee gained infamy after sharing right-winged opinions that bordered on QAnon conspiracies. He would eventually distance himself from such stances, but his name remains tainted.
While speaking on the Oh You Didn’t Know on AdFreeShows.com, WWE Hall Of Famer Road Dogg recalled the time Drake Wuertz was attacked by a bomb dog a few years ago. This is a story that was hinted at a while ago, but now Road Dogg is telling all, because he rode with Wuertz to the ER.
“One time the bomb dog attacked Drake Wuertz. He was asleep. He was the production referee, so he had to be there early to help put the ring up. So he was asleep in the room and they let the bomb dog in, and the dog just went and attacked him and started biting him. Yeah. I went to the emergency room with Drake. Yeah, that’s a true story, man. I got pictures on my phone of his dog bite and it was serious. The police department came back and kind of brushed it over like, ‘Yeah, well, whatever. He shouldn’t have been in there.’ I was like, ‘Your friggin dog bit my boy.’
“On his arm, on his shoulder, all over his bicep, dude, there were holes. There were holes all in him.” It’s a bomb dog. What do you think, that his arm was gonna blow up? Stupid German Shepherd.”
Drake Wuertz was also previously fooled by a prankster who pretended to be CM Punk. It seems that stories about Drake Wuertz aren’t stopping, no matter where he’s employed. Regardless, it is highly unlikely Wuertz is ever coming back to WWE, and that’s for the best. He will also likely be extra careful about taking a nap around big dogs from now on.
