WWE Had Much Different Plans For The Shield’s WrestleMania Match

The Shield can easily be regarded as one of the most popular factions in WWE history. Right from their debut on the main roster, they showcased their dominance and were involved in some of the biggest storylines at the time. However, one particular storyline did not go as planned.

At WrestleMania 30, Billy Gunn teamed with Road Dogg and Kane to face The Shield. The surprising part about this match was that The Shield squashed the three legends in under three minutes. During a virtual signing for captain’s corner, Billy Gunn reflected on the match blaming the time constraints as the reasons the match was cut short.

“Well, it was supposed to be longer but it was unfortunately too short so, I think we only had eight minutes and that kind of was horrible.”

Billy Gunn managed to rejuvenate his career in AEW and become one of the most popular guys on the roster, thanks to scissoring with The Acclaimed. He seems to be having the time of his life currently. We will have to wait and see if his stock will continue to rise.
