Rey Mysterio is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, whose influence in the industry knows no bounds. He has sacrificed his body for the business and as a result, has suffered a slew of injuries over the years. In fact, his latest injury made him pull out from a huge angle.

The Master Of the 6-1-9 was unable to defeat GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship a couple of weeks ago. Since then, fans wondered what WWE had planned for Mysterio.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Rey Mysterio is dealing with a short-term injury. Dave Meltzer confirmed this during his daily update Wrestling Observer, and he revealed that Mysterio was pulled from the SmackDown World Cup due to a “foot or ankle” injury.

“Rey Mysterio was scheduled for the World Cup but he had either a foot or an ankle injury and was replaced by Mustafa Ali.”

We will have to wait and see when Rey Mysterio will be making his return to the ring. Fans will certainly miss him till then.
