Saraya was forced to call it quits on her career in the squared circle due to injuries sustained while working in the ring. The former Paige would eventually make her way to AEW, which she calls her home now. However, she was criticized for her most recent promo on AEW Dynamite.
As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Saraya revealed that she has been medically cleared for in-ring action during her segment with Britt Baker. Naturally, fans were overjoyed with this news.
She also mentioned how much she had to struggle over the years in her promo. While speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray criticized Saraya for making it all about herself in the promo.
“All of that other stuff that came out of her mouth, what did it accomplish? ‘I did this. I did that. I battled this. I got hit by a car. My family this. I’ve been doing this 30 years.’
Okay. Every wrestler has their story but for a babyface to go in there and go ‘me, me, me, me, me, me, me.’ That’s why it reminded me of Taz because Taz was like ‘I had to go through this. I was too short. I had to deal with this. Blah blah blah. What about me? What about Taz?’ That’s what I felt from Saraya last night.”
Saraya is set to square off against Britt Baker at AEW Full Gear on November 19th. We will have to wait and see whether she will end up winning her in-ring debut match or not.
