Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Set For Title Match Outside Of AEW

Sammy Guevara became one of the most beloved stars in AEW, mainly thanks to his solid in-ring prowess. However, none of that matters any more thanks to his relationship with Tay Conti. Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo are also set to compete in a title match outside of AEW.

AEW President Tony Khan admitted that fan reaction to Sammy and Tay is unlike something he has seen before. In fact, Khan further realized that he misread the fan reaction to Guevara and Conti.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo’s next defense of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships have also been announced. They will defend the belts in a triple threat match at Noche De Campeones on December 28 from Acapulco, AAA revealed on Saturday. Lady Shani & Octagon Jr. and Sexy Star & Komander will be their opponents.

Guevara & Melo won the belts in a four-way match at AAA Triplemania Monterrey on April 30. Since then, the two have defended the titles a few times. We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out.
