CM Punk’s run in WWE came to a screeching halt after the Royal Rumble in 2014 when he was frustrated with the company, which led to him walking out. He never wanted to return to pro wrestling again but that changed eventually. There has been speculation that he’ll go back to WWE but Eric Bischoff doesn’t think that’s a good idea.
CM Punk has been the subject of controversy ever since he cut a shoot promo on Adam Page earlier this year. The brawl after AEW All Out was just another nail in the coffin for him.
While speaking with WrestlingInc, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff talked about CM Punk possibly returning to WWE. Bischoff strongly warned Triple H against signing Punk again.
“I can tell you from my perspective, I wouldn’t touch him with a 10-foot pole,” Bischoff said in an exclusive interview with Wrestling Inc.’s Dominic DeAngelo. “I think CM Punk had a mystique because of WWE, and because of the pipe bomb interview, and because he walked out, that created this aura and mystique that [AEW CEO] Tony [Khan] brought to AEW and took advantage of for a minute.”
Punk was also blasted for being bitter about his WWE run as well. We will have to wait and see if he will go back to WWE, as it seems highly unlikely right now.
