Triple H made a lot of calls since taking over WWE’s creative direction. A few of those decisions reversed previous Vince McMahon booking, and it appears that is not going to stop.
Robert Roode who has been out of action due to an injury is expected to return to the ring soon. His last televised match was in early April. However, a lot has changed since Roode last stepped inside a ring that could affect his position on the card.
According to PW Insider, WWE has talked about Robert Roode making his return to SmackDown despite being a RAW superstar at the time of his injury. If that happens, then it’s highly likely that this could mean the end of Roode’s Dirty Dawgs tag team with Dolph Ziggler.
Given that Triple H is in charge of creative now, he may be looking to push Robert Roode as a prominent singles competitor like he did in NXT where Roode was the NXT Champion. This move could end up being the best thing for him.
Despite a successful run in NXT, Robert Roode’s transition into the main roster has been underwhelming. Although he is a former United States and Tag Team Champion, he still hasn’t reached the potential that fans expected from him. We will have to wait and see if this regime change could benefit Roode in the future.
