Saraya became the talk of the All Elite fan base after she debuted for the company in September 2022. The Anti Diva shocked the wrestling world with her switch from WWE to AEW, and naturally Tony Khan had an idea for her.

Saraya wrestled for WWE from 2013 to 2018 as a cornerstone of the Women’s Revolution that led to better opportunities for the women in the company. The Anti Diva won the NXT and Divas Championships in WWE and wrestled the likes of Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

After her retirement in 2018 due to neck problems, she began appearing in non-wrestling roles. The former WWE Divas Champion continued to be a part of the company until July 2022 when she released by the WWE. Saraya’s debut in AEW also saw her getting physical inside the ring with Britt Baker during a heated exchange between the two Superstars.

Saraya, who claims that AEW is now her house, went on to reveal the original plans AEW President Tony Khan had for her debut. Tony wanted Saraya to wrestle in tag team matches. Saraya also spoke about her vision for her debut in AEW on The Session with Renee Paquette.

“He (Tony Khan) was like maybe we could do some tag matches … and I was just like emmmm … You know if I was to come back, I would want it to be a singles match.”

This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the shocking announcement that Saraya has been cleared for in-ring return and is set to battle Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D at Full Gear pay-per-view. Fans might have mocked this clearance, but it remains a fact that Saraya will wrestle again in 2022.
