Bret Hart is widely regarded as one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time. Throughout his career, he has had many memorable matches that played a hand in influencing today’s generation of wrestlers. However, his wrestling acumen didn’t seem to impress Road Dogg who claimed Hart wasn’t a great wrestler. To make matters worse, Dogg claimed that he was a better sports entertainer than Hart.
Obviously, these comments didn’t sit well with Bret Hart’s fans on social media. Hence, Road Dogg had to clarify his comments on a special edition of his “Oh….You Didn’t Know” podcast.
“That is fair to say and I feel that way today, even though everybody has been really angry at me on Twitter. It’s just my opinion … Hyperbole is the verbiage of the day and everything is the best or the worst, and today, I’m on the worst and so I’m sorry. I’m sorry I shared an opinion on a platform I was given in order to share my opinion.”
Road Dogg also clarified what he meant when he claimed to be a better sports entertainer than Bret Hart. Road Dogg said he had different ways to entertain a crowd other than grappling and wrestling.
“If you ask me to go out there and entertain a crowd, I would have different ways to do that other than grappling and wrestling,” Road Dogg continued. “I stand by that, right now.”
Road Dogg may have apologized for saying that Bret Hart wasn’t a great wrestler, but it looks like he stands by his comments that he is a better sports entertainer than Hart. We will have to wait and see how fans react to his clarifications.
