Saraya was left with no choice but to retire from in-ring competition in 2017 and that brought about a lot of changes in general. The former Paige remained relevant in other roles for years after that, but she never wrestled again. In fact, Saraya even hid in a room before her debut in AEW.
The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion left the company back in July and then made her All Elite Wrestling debut during ‘Dynamite: Grand Slam. Since then, she has remained a staple of AEW television.
While speaking to Renee Paquette on her Sessions podcast, Saraya revealed that she hid in a room prior to her AEW debut and revealed who knew about her debut beforehand.
So, people knew there was someone there. they put me in this room and gave me like a shirt, a tennis shirt. I had my sunglasses, they had security all around me. The only people that knew were Tony and his lawyer and you, Jon, Jericho and Britt.
Saraya is set to square off against Britt Baker at AEW Full Gear on November 19th. Of course, a lot of fans are not too happy about the fact that Saraya got her clearance. You can check out the entire Full Gear card here. We will have to wait and see who will come out on top in the match.
