MJF is one of the greatest wrestlers on the AEW roster who has established himself ever since AEW debut in 2019. Wrestling and swooning the crowd is something that comes naturally to him. Despite not wanting to become a babyface, it seems all the roads are leading him there. It seems he also slowly started to accept it a little when he compared himself to famous babyfaces The Rock and John Cena.

10 days ahead of his big match at Full Gear, MJF made a guest appearance on the “Pardon My Take” podcast. MJF discussed how he would lead the company into a new era after crushing Jon Moxley at Full Gear.

This is the most important match of my entire career. What wrestling fans don’t understand is this is also possibly the most important match in the history of our sport. This could be the potential crowning of the next face – of the next generation – of professional wrestling. You see, every once in a blue moon, we see people lead the charge of a generation, who bring professional wrestling to new heights. Guys like Bruno Sammartino, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena, all of these men were generational talents. And that’s exactly who MJF is.”

MJF further stated that the only thing standing in his way to become a legend is Jon Moxley. He also went on to trash talk him in good old MJF fashion.

“So here’s what’s gonna happen – all I have to do to etch my name into history is to have a long, fruitful World Title reign, and the only person getting in my way is Jon Moxley. And I’m not gonna sit here and pretend Jon Moxley is an easy competitor. I don’t like you, Jon, but I do respect you because you weren’t born to be a World Champion. Matter of fact, you were born with two left feet and not one athletic bone in your body. However, I respect you because you had to work your ass off to become the man you’re today.”

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the AEW World Title match at Full Gear. If MJF is successful at his title shot at Full Gear without resorting to any dirty tactics, fans believe he could become a “full-blown babyface”. Only time will tell what the higher-ups at AEW have in store for MJF.
