WWE announced earlier this year that the traditional 5v5 Survivor Series matches will be replaced by WarGames matches, and the Premium Live Event was aptly renamed Survivor Series WarGames. Well, it now appears that WWE has some major plans for the WarGames match.
According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE is planning for some “craziness” for the WarGames matches at Survivor Series. This is because WWE needs more footage for video packages featuring the match. Most of the footage they have features NXT Superstars that are no longer in the company.
The first WarGames match took place in 2017 and featured The Undisputed Era, SAnitY, and The Authors of Pain. All the participants involved in that match are no longer with the company. The 2018 WarGames match featured The Undisputed Era, Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and The War Raiders.
The WarGames match in 2019 featured The Undisputed Era who faced Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, and Kevin Owens. In 2020, The Undisputed Era faced Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch.
The NXT WarGames match that featured all current WWE superstars took place last year. The match featured Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, and LA Knight who challenged Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, and Tony D’Angelo.
Survivor Series WarGames is set to take place on November 26th. The only matches confirmed for the event are the two WarGames matches although the participants for the matches are yet to be revealed. It will be interesting to see what sort of crazy moments WWE will plan for the match.
