R-Truth wrestled against Grayson Waller last week on NXT. While the match looked promising, R-Truth injured himself when he attempted to perform a top-rope dive on Waller. This resulted in the match being called off as R-Truth was deemed unable to compete. Now, we have an update.
A week has since passed and R-Truth has revealed that he is going to undergo Quad surgery in a video he posted on Twitter where he thanked his fans for their support.
“Hey! Hey! Hey! Wassup? Hey, y’all! First off, I want to thank each and every one of y’all for y’all concerns, y’all get wells, y’all are prayers, y’all support. Yes, unfortunately, yeah, I got hurt. I got hit with that kryptonite. I did tear my quad tendon and I’m at surgery now as we speak. My wife right there. I’ll be going in, so…um. Yeah. It is what it is, right? You guys know I’ll be back. I wanna thank you.. WIthout you, [there] ain’t no me. So, let me go ahead and handle this business and I’ll be back before y’all know it. Alright. Peace!”
It’s sad that R-Truth got injured now especially since he has been receiving more screen time as of late and has even been able to get over with the fans. It will be interesting to see if WWE will keep the momentum going once he returns from injury.
