The fourth season of Dark Side of the Ring is returning to VICE TV. Now there is word that one of the episodes will focus on WWE Hall of Famer Junkyard Dog.
On his Grilling JR podcast, AEW commentator Jim Ross confirmed that he will return for another sit-down appearance on the docuseries. He confirmed that one episode he will be a part of will be about JYD.
“I’m going to do something with Evan (Husney) and those Dark Side guys on the Dog, talking about JYD. Of all the people living, through that entire era, I might have a unique outlook on it.
We’re going to record that in the next few days, talk about Dog’s career, what he meant to that company, that territory, and that part of the country. I’m glad to be doing that with those guys, tell the story about the Junkyard Dog,”
Ross was involved with “Dark Side of the Ring” for past episodes but stated that he would not appear on the show as he felt he was misrepresented by the edits. It looks like the issues between the two sides have been resolved, since he’s working on a “Dark Side of the Ring” episode focused on Junkyard Dog.
Junkyard Dog getting his own episode should ignite a lot of chatter in the fandom. He was able to be the first Black wrestler to be made the undisputed top star of any promotion, and was often headlined cards that drew large crowds and regularly sold out the Louisiana Superdome and other major venues.
