The AEW All Out media scrum led to disastrous results after CM Punk went on a scathing rant on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. Short movies regarding The Elite, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, and their absence from the company have been playing on AEW Dynamite in recent weeks. Due to a very precise word choice in the videos, many people have speculated that The Elite might return soon.
Fans and the company’s social media accounts have given the videos the hashtag “Delete The Elite,” leading some to speculate that Matt and Jeff Hardy will somehow be involved in The Elite’s comeback. Fightful Select reports that neither of the Hardys will take part in Matt, Nick, or Kenny’s return to the ring.
This is not particularly surprising given that Matt Hardy is now enrolled in a program with The Firm with Private Party and Jeff Hardy is still on administrative leave as a result of his DUI in June. During his tenure in Impact Wrestling as “Broken” Matt Hardy and Brother Nero, the former Team Extreme member became synonymous with the word “Delete,” which sparked the initial conjecture.
Don Callis, Kenny Omega’s manager and confidant, was reportedly present backstage at numerous AEW events in recent weeks. Many people now believe that The Elite will return sooner rather than later as a result of this and the recent teasers.
Others have even suggested AEW Full Gear as a potential timeframe for the AEW Executive Vice Presidents’ return to the company. The most recent video highlighted Death Triangle’s victory over The Elite in the AEW World Trios Championships. Stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest updates.
