Bayley was on the shelf for over a year after suffering an ACL injury while training at the WWE Performance Center. She finally returned during WWE SummerSlam, alongside Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, as they formed Damage CTRL. Fast forward to now, and Triple H is now being criticized for the group’s booking.
Kai and Sky even won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and remained the champions for a while. However, they ended up losing the titles to Asuka and Alexa Bliss on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
The faction has simply failed to get over with the crowd and get appropriate reactions. While speaking on a recent episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast recorded before Kai and Sky dropped their titles, Freddie Prinze Jr. criticized WWE for the group’s booking.
I guess WWE’s done with Bayley,” Prinze says. “She lost to Candice LeRae, she’s losing to everybody. The entire Damage CTRL situation is a tag team championship on two girls that I don’t know if they’re going to get over.
Whenever I see something not working. I just want to kill it. Blow it up. It’s wrestling, that’s been wrestling’s mo from the dawn of time. I don’t know what they’re trying to do with this.
Bayley is set to challenge Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship at Crown Jewel. Sky and Kai are also set to get a rematch for their titles at the same event on November 5th. We’ll have to see whether Damage CTRL will walk away with all the gold or not.
