Update: Ringside News can exclusively confirm that Kevin Owens’ WWE hiatus has nothing to do with Sami Zayn.
Original: Kevin Owens started showing traits of the character he played in NXT under Triple H’s direction not long after The Game took over WWE creative. Along with making Owens stronger, slight modifications were made to his demeanor and appearance. WWE also put their plans for KO on hold at the moment.
According to WrestleVotes during an interview with GiveMeSport, Triple H has postponed his plans for KO given how unpopular Sami Zayn’s connection with The Bloodline has been with the fans. This is precisely why Owens isn’t currently on television.
He was pegged to get involved with Sami and The Bloodline, but that’s white hot right now. Those plans from what I’ve been told are definitely pushed back, but they’re not off, because the plan is for Kevin Owens to be with Sami Zayn.
Whatever they had planned for Kevin Owens is totally on pause because this stuff with Sami doesn’t come around often. This was supposed to be a little three, four week comedy deal, and it’s getting big.
It was initially planned that Sami’s presence in the group would last just a few weeks, but things have since altered. Zayn recently spoke in an interview regarding this topic.
While Owens has continued to work house shows, his last televised encounter took place on the WWE Raw episode on August 26th. He teamed up with Johnny Gargano to defeat Alpha Academy of Chad Gable and Otis. Stay tuned to Ringside News for the latest news and updates.
