The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch) and The Bloodline (The Usos and Solo Sikoa) were originally booked to collide in a six-man tag team match at Crown Jewel PLE. The Bloodline took out Sheamus last week on SmackDown.
Michael Cole noted during SmackDown this week that The Usos will defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Butch and Ridge Holland at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia next week. The match was made official following Butch and Ridge Holland’s victory over Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa.
In reality, Sheamus’ upcoming wedding prompted WWE to change the match. The Irish Warrior is set to tie the knot with Isabella Revilla this weekend. Sheamus was absent from this Friday’s edition of SmackDown as well. He is likely to miss Crown Jewel due to his wedding.
In storyline, Sheamus suffered a “non-displaced fracture” near his elbow due to The Bloodline’s horrendous assault on him during SmackDown last week. WWE explained his absence from SmackDown this week when they announced that Sheamus was undergoing intense physical therapy in his home.
We’ll have to wait to see what’s next in store for Sheamus. Keep reading Ringside News for more from the world of pro wrestling.
