MJF worked hard to establish himself as one of the most controversial and talked about talents in a long time. The Salt Of The Earth is truly proficient when it comes to cutting a promo as well. AEW was also warned no to rush his face turn.
Following MJF’s scathing promo on AEW President Tony Khan a few months ago, MJF remained absent from AEW television. That all changed after MJF was revealed to be the Joker at AEW All Out and confronted CM Punk. MJF also got a massive pop upon his return.
During the AEW All Out media scrum, Chris Jericho stated that he believes MJF would become one of the top babyfaces in AEW. This was certainly an interesting prediction by Jericho.
Since then, AEW has slowly been building towards his eventual babyface turn. While speaking during his latest “Reffin Rant” on Twitter, Jimmy Korderas warned AEW not to rush MJF’s babyface turn.
“It appears MJF seems to be heading towards the babyface route, and people are conflicted about this, ‘Oh, he shouldn’t be a babyface, he’s a great heel.’ Yes, he is a great heel, but do you know what? So was “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, so was The Rock, so was Roddy Piper, all these guys throughout the years … man you can go on,” he said. “MJF right now is a guy who could be a babyface, be a heel, and get the desired reaction … Maybe we do get the swerve at the PPV against Jon Moxley or whatever the case may be, but at the same time somewhere down the road MJF is going to be a huge babyface, and the star of AEW.”
People in AEW are currently pulling for MJF to turn babyface. However, MJF himself does not want to be a babyface. We’ll have to see whether he will turn babyface in the end.
