Chelsea Green competed in the 2015 edition of WWE Tough Enough, where she finished in 4th place. Despite falling short, Chelsea Green was offered a WWE contract in 2018 and wrestled on NXT until she was called up to SmackDown in November 2020. However, a wrist injury that night derailed her plans. She was then released on April 15, 2021, as part of the budget cuts.
Following her release, she has plied her trade for other promotions such as Impact Wrestling and ROH. However, according to reports from PW Insider, it seems that WWE officials had significant interest in bringing Chelsea Green back to the company earlier this month.
It is also reported that Chelsea Green filmed an exit vignette with VXT tag team partner Deonna Purrazzo during the last set of television tapings. There has been a lot of talk about Chelsea Green heading back to WWE, which dates back at least 3-4 weeks.
Although her return isn’t official, there is the belief that Green wouldn’t give up being a regular feature on Impact Wrestling unless she was offered a deal by WWE. It was also reported that back in August that Chelsea Green was working in Impact without a contract.
Chelsea Green will be in action in tonight’s Impact main event where she will team with Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw against Mickie James, Taylor Wilde, and Jordynne Grace. This match was taped at last week’s Impact television tapings. It was also reported that Chelsea Green worked one more match at those tapings against Mickie James which should air next week.
