Tag team wrestling has been pretty hot across multiple promotions in 2022. The Usos representing The Bloodline, RK-Bro, The Street Profits, The Alpha Academy, The Acclaimed, The Young Bucks, and FTR are some of the teams entertaining fans across the world. Now a WWE Hall of Famer was surprised why FTR was released from WWE.
While speaking at “K&S WrestleFest” virtual autograph signing, pro wrestling legend Bret “The Hitman” Hart was curious about why FTR was released from WWE. He believes that the team is the best in the business today.
“I think they’re the best tag team right now. I’m surprised [WWE] let them go … they lost ’em; they don’t understand what tag team wrestling is anymore.”
Harwood and Wheeler were released from WWE in 2020. They left a legacy as they are the first-ever WWE triple crown tag team champions. It means they held the “NXT,” “Raw,” and “SmackDown” tag team championships at different points in WWE.
FTR is simultaneously holding New Japan’s IWGP tag titles, the ROH tag titles, and the AAA tag championships. At this point, they are future hall of famer’s for WWE.
Since WWE’s tag team division is getting a bit more depth, hopefully, “The Hitman” takes notice. Great time for their product.
