Cody Rhodes debuted in 2007 and quickly became a regular fixture on WWE RAW. He even formed a tag team with Hardcore Holly whom he later betrayed to join Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase. There is no debating the RAW potential that Cody Rhodes had, even back in the day. However, his potential wasn’t fully realized, and he was released from his WWE contract in 2016.
While Cody Rhodes presents himself in a calm and humble manner today, that wasn’t always the case. During the Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree recalled his first interaction with Cody Rhodes by stating how entitled he was.
“I remember Cody Rhodes one time spotted off like yeah second generation guys don’t get along and I’m thinking what the f**k do you know about that. My days with Cody were different with other people because when I first met him like, entitled? like a hundred and f**king percent right… He got hired, no experience, no nothing, he was 21, he was trying to be an actor in Hollywood.”
Cody Rhodes recently returned to WWE and was involved in a prominent feud with Seth Rollins. However, an injury has put him on the sidelines for now. It will be interesting to see how far Cody Rhodes will be pushed when he makes his return.
