Triple H is a pioneer in the world of professional wrestling. After accomplishing a lot as a pro wrestler, he became the brains behind NXT’s gold and black era. He became the head of WWE Creative and a lot of changes were made afterwards.
As previously reported, the company has cancelled the upcoming Day 1 Premium Live Event. So far, only one event of that name took place at the very beginning of this year.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Day 1 event was cancelled largely due to conflict with football and subsequent cancellations afterwards.
At the time we were told when WWE would likely announce the date change (in the local market people believed the announcement was going to be made on 10/7, but that date came and went and since then, nobody who was aware has been able to find out anything more), and at the time the date for the show in Atlanta was Tuesday, 12/27. That date surprised me, with the idea of a PPV head-to-head with NXT on USA and that they had a house show scheduled in Detroit on 12/27.
Then the Detroit date got canceled secretly as it had not been announced at the time. It has since been announced that the 12/27 show in that building is off and a new date in that building is 1/20 for a Smackdown taping. So at this moment, WWE has everyone on the road on 12/26, with Raw in Columbus, OH for a TV shoot and Smackdown in Madison Square Garden, then the key people are on the road for a day for no reason before the Raw crew going to Cleveland on 12/28 and Smackdown crew going to Greensboro
The 2022 Day 1 show took place from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta and saw Brock Lesnar become the new WWE champion after defeating Big E, Bobby Lashley, Sadly, fans will not see that event happen again next year.
