Earlier in June, Jeff Hardy was arrested for a couple of misdemeanor counts and for driving while under influence of alcohol/drugs. This was the third time within the past 10 years that Jeff Hardy was arrested for a DUI. It looks like Jeff Hardy will have to wait a little bit longer for his court date as it has been pushed again.
Jeff Hardy was originally scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on August 17th and then again on October 19. However, PW Insider reports that Jeff Hardy’s attorney filed a motion for continuance on October 18th which was granted. It was stated that Jeff Hardy’s attorneys provided an extensive amount of materials for the prosecutive to review. Hence, the parties would require additional time to try to reach a pre-trial resolution.
The motion also indicates that both parties are trying to reach a settlement that wouldn’t require a trial from taking place. But for now, it looks like Jeff Hardy is expected to be in Judge Raul Zambrano’s courtroom on Thursday, November 17th at 8:30 am at the Justice Center Courtroom 3 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Jeff Hardy was arrested back on June 13th and charged with second-degree misdemeanor Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, second-degree misdemeanor Violation of Restrictions Placed on Driver’s License, and third-degree felony DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years. If convicted, Jeff Hardy could be asked to serve 5 years in prison. Tony Khan also announced back in June that Jeff Hardy was suspended indefinitely without pay, and his suspension will hold until he is able to undergo treatment and maintain sobriety.
