Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt feuded back in 2015, and their rivalry quickly became a fan favorite. That being said, The Tribal Chief wasn’t happy with Wyatt involving in daughter in their feud.
Reigns was inches away from grabbing the briefcase and a guaranteed championship opportunity at Money in the Bank 2015 when Wyatt interfered, costing him the match. On the following episode of RAW, Wyatt held up a photograph of Reigns and Joelle during a promo. He sang “I’m a Little Teapot” to mock Roman Reigns and indirectly threatened his daughter.
Reigns later explained on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast that the promo was a good way to spark between the two, but he didn’t like the idea of involving his daughter. He said he made sure that WWE didn’t cross the line.
[The picture] wasn’t something that came from my home or private, like, me and [Joelle] selfie or something like that. It was a promotional thing that we did. It’s in the malls. You can probably see it on my Twitter, so that’s why I was okay with that…We didn’t touch on it much after. It was something to spark, but too much is too much and I thought we were able to push a line and stay there and not go too far and we were able to go back towards the wrestling and the talent and us telling our individual competition story [as] opposed to getting too deep into that type of real life situation.
Years later Reigns is now WWE’s top guy. He is known to be a big family and likes to keep his family life private. Reigns is a father of five: Joelle is his first daughter who he welcomed in 2008 with wife Galina Joelle Becker.
