Gary Gordon is currently signed to WWE, appearing on its Raw brand under the ring name Angelo Dawkins. He is one-half of the tag team known as The Street Profits with Montez Ford. There’s a surge in singles matches for Angelo Dawkins, and for good reason.
Recent episodes of the Fightful post-show podcast have discussed how Angelo Dawkins has allegedly astonished fans with his ringside development. That appears to have spread much beyond the confines of simply our bubble, as WWE sources contacted them after they talked about it on the post-show this past Monday.
A WWE insider gave Angelo Dawkins a lot of credit for improvements in all areas, including his body, in-ring skills, and working manner. Another WWE insider claimed that Dawkins’ increased involvement in singles contests since this Summer is not by chance. For comparison, from WrestleMania 2021 to May 2022, he competed in the same number of singles contests. The same individual claimed they had overheard superiors praising Dawkins.
One WWE source heavily credited Angelo Dawkins with improvements all around, from his physique, to his in-ring ability, to the style that he’s worked. Another WWE source said that it’s not an accident that Dawkins has been working more singles matches since this Summer. For context, he’s had as many singles matches since June 20 that he had from WrestleMania 2021 to May 2022. That same source said they’d overheard higher ups speaking well of Dawkins.
Angelo Dawkins has the potential to become the group’s breakout star if given the chance to compete in singles matches, according to an AEW talent who really spoke with Fightful about the matter. It is said that Dawkins will continue to be entered into singles matches at a rate that is higher than what was observed before to the Summer.
