Triple H Was Shocked WWE Let Saraya’s Contract Expire

Saraya was Paige in WWE, but she was left with no choice but to retire from in-ring competition in 2017. That life event for Saraya brought about a lot of changes in general. She remained relevant in other WWE roles for years after that, but she never wrestled again.

The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion left the company back in July after WWE decided not to renew her contract for some reason. She then made her All Elite Wrestling debut during ‘Dynamite: Grand Slam.

According to Fightful’s paywall, when Triple H took over, his regime did make efforts to get Saraya back into the mix, as there is a positive relationship between the two sides. Triple H was also said to be shocked when the old regime did not renew Saraya’s deal.

We will have to wait and see how Saraya will be booked in the coming weeks. For the time being, she is just happy to be back on television. Fans should see what the company has in store for her next week.

We previously reported that Saraya also passed up on an opportunity to come back to WWE as a General Manager. We’ll have to see how her time turns out in AEW.
