MJF worked hard to establish himself as one of the most controversial and talked about talents in a long time. The Salt Of The Earth is truly proficient when it comes to cutting a promo as well.
Following MJF’s scathing promo on AEW President Tony Khan a few months ago, MJF remained absent from AEW television. That all changed after MJF was revealed to be the Joker at AEW All Out and confronted CM Punk. MJF also got a massive pop upon his return.
During the AEW All Out media scrum, Chris Jericho stated that he believes MJF would become one of the top babyfaces in AEW. This was certainly an interesting prediction by Jericho.
While speaking on Not Sam Wrestling, MJF addressed Chris Jericho’s remarks that he will become a huge babyface. MJF jokingly agreed with Chris and said that he’s already a great guy and is salt of the earth.
I think I’m a great guy. I think I’m salt of the earth. You kidding me? So I totally agree with Chris. Who doesn’t love me? And that’s the thing, like I said, you’ll find the biggest stars in our industry today are all going through the exact same thing.
This is just true, when I come through the curtain when Roman comes through the curtain, this is a good example. You will hear the crowd and it’s deafening. There’s cheers going on and there’s boos going on. But the most important thing is, it is the loudest it will be all night.
Now, do I feel that there will come a time in my career where I will entire lean into the cheering, I don’t know. What I do know is what I care about the most and that is money. I’m not changing a damn thing.
We will have to wait and see whether MJF will end up winning the AEW World Title and becoming a babyface. He certainly has the microphone skills to sway fans in whichever direction he wishes. Some fans would certainly love to see that happen, but everyone would be along for the Maximum Ride.
